A client favorite, perfect for use at home or school, this pediatric special needs activity chair raises and lowers up and down, and the back tilts for extra comfort.
This special needs activity chair comes in two chair designs, one incorporating a standard base and the other what it terms a Hi/lo base. This product listing is for large chairbuilt on a Hi/lo base; other sizes of the standard-base chair and those on a Hi/lo base are listed separately (see “related products” below).
The large and medium hi/lo bases are height-adjustable via a foot pump. The foot pump allows you to lower the client in the chair until his or her feet are on the floor, or raise it to a 32″ high table. The chair’s height can also be easily set for lateral transfers. A large standard base Rifton Activity Chair is also available.
The small hi/lo base is equipped with a gas spring to serve the same function.

Tilt-in-space-The Rifton Hi-Lo Activity Chair tilt-in-space feature encourages sit to stand and rest positions. The R840and R860 Standard base tilts 15 degrees forward and 15 degrees back.
Spring option-The optional springs on the Rifton Hi-Lol Activity Chair allow for calming through self-stim. The spring column can be locked when not in use. The Standard base has optional springs in both backrest and seat, making it an ideal choice for children with autism
Choice of 6 modern pad colors-The Rifton Hi-Lo Activity Chair seat and backrest pads are made of polyurethane foam, with a polyurethane-coated fabric covers.

This large chair (S870) is made up of the following basic components:
